Programme Leader

Mr. Andrew Mackenzie, a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute, has carved a notable career in the insurance industry underpinned by rigorous education and diverse professional experiences. His academic journey includes an MSc in Insurance and Risk Management from Bayes Business School with Distinction and an MA in Modern History from the University of Durham. Andrew is currently pursuing an Executive PhD in Actuarial Science at Bayes Business School on a part-time basis.

Professionally, Andrew has excelled in roles across prestigious institutions like Lloyd’s of London and Atrium Underwriting Ltd., specializing in marine insurance claims. His expertise extends to adjusting claims for Marine Hull and Machinery, Cargo, and Energy sectors. Additionally, Andrew contributes to the insurance community as an examiner, coursework marker, and textbook reviser with the Chartered Insurance Institute.

His scholarly work includes publications on maritime decarbonization and the implications of maritime laws, affirming his thought leadership. Recognized for his professional excellence, Andrew has received awards such as the Rutter Medal from the CII, the Bayes Alumni Rising Star Award, and the Insurance Insider Young Claims Professional of the Year 2019.
